CHITTAGONG: Police detained seven activists and leaders og BNP including its central organizing secretary Golam Akbar Khandakar from in front of party office in Kazir Dewri area of the port city on Thursday morning.

The detainees include Golam Akbar Khandakar’s personal assistant Arjun Kumar Nath, District BNP (North) vice-president professor Jasim Uddin Chowdhury, former Chhatra Dal leader Yasin Chowdhury Liton, Khorshed Alam, Juba Dal leader Shahin and unidentified another one.

Later, the BNP leaders were taken to Kotwali Thana by police van.
