PATUAKHALI: At least 50 people, including BNP leaders, were injured in sporadic clashes between blockade supporters and law enforcers in Telikhali area of Badarpur Union of the district on Thursday morning.

The injured were sent to Fortune clinic and Patuakhali 250-seated hospital.

Sources said that as per the central programmme, 18-party alliance activists took position on Patuakhali-Barisal highway in the area at around 9:00am.

Later, police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) charged baton and fired rubber bullets to bring the situation under control, leaving numbers of people injured.
