PM slams opposition for violence

GAZIPUR: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday alleged that that the blockaders are plotting to sink launches and ferries to destabilize the country in the name of movement.

“As per information there are directives to blockaders to sink launches and ferries on river rout,” she said.

The premier came up with the disclosure while visiting Gazipur’s Standard Group garment factory, which was set fire on Friday.

Sheikh Hasina also came down heavily on the opposition’s stance of setting ablaze buses full of passengers.

She said, “They killed 30 people by setting fire to public busses aiming lower and middle-income group people and destructed railway links.”

While talking on sabotage in garments factory, she said: “The contribution of the garment sector in the country’s social economy is enormous and those who want to destroy the industry are actually destroying the country’s economy.”

Meanwhile, she urged the people to prevent those who were behind such destructive activities.
