Rebecca Momin, a member of parliament from Netrokona-4 constituency, died at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday (July 11) morning. She was 76.
She breathed her last at Dhaka's Square Hospital around 4 am today.
The Awami League lawmaker had been suffering from old age complications, including kidney and respiratory problem, for a long time.
She was first elected to parliament from the Mohanganj-Khaliajuri constituency in 2008 and served as the chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Women and Children Affairs.
Her husband, Abdul Momin, was a member of the Awami League's presidium and served as the food minister in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's administration.
