SATKHIRA: Miscreants chopped an activist of Awami League to death at Balli Amtala Bazaar under Sadar Upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Ejhar Ali, 55.

Locals said that miscreants chopped him indiscriminately while he was sleeping in his grocery shop in the bazaar at around 1:30am, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to District Sadar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 7:35am.

Confirming the matter Satkhira Sadar Thana Officer-in-Charge Enamul Haque told banglanews, “The motives behind the killing could not be known immediately.”
