Jamaat’s hartal Thursday likely

DHAKA: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami decided to call daylong hartal across the country for Thursday in protest against the government move to execute the death penalty of Jamaat leader Quader Mollah.

The party sources said they would declare the shutdown formally on Wednesday evening.

The Jamaat called hartal is underway across the country with stray incidents of violence.

Earlier on Monday, Jamaat also enforced hartal across the country protesting the government move to execute the death penalty awarded by the Supreme Court for committing crimes against humanity.
