LAXMIPUR: At least five people received bullets injury in a clash between law enforcers and BNP activists in the district town on Thursday morning.

Later, district unit of BNP called dawn-to-dusk hartal for Saturday in the district in protest against the incident.

The injures are- District BNP general secretary Sahab Uddin Sabu, District Juba Dal joint general secretary Iqbal Mahmud Jewel and Laxmipur government college Chhatra Dal cultural secretary Nesar Uddin. But the identity of two others could not be known immediately.

Witnesses said that in support of blockade, district and municipal BNP brought out a procession at around 7:15am and at one stage they attacked law enforcers.

In retaliation, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police opened fire to bring the situation under control.
