The physical condition of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital, has deteriorated.
The medical board formed by the hospital for the treatment of the BNP chiefs expressed concern after getting her test reports.
One of the board members said that Khaleda Zia has an imbalance of minerals in her body as calcium, potassium, and hemoglobin levels decreased.
She has been suffering from a lack of adequate sleep due to electrolyte imbalance, he said, adding her health has been deteriorating for the last few days.
She is under close observation of the medical board, the board member added.
Khaleda Zia, a 77-year-old former prime minister, has been suffering from various ailments, including liver cirrhosis, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung, heart and eye problems.
The BNP chairperson was admitted to the hospital on August 9.
