BOGRA: Activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir went berserk and torched at least 20 vehicles and set fire to government and private offices in different parts of the district on Friday.

The district went crippled as Jamaat-Shibir men triggered mayhem from Thursday night till Friday noon.

They torched more than 20 vehicles in Bogra-Dhaka, Bogra-Naogaon, Bogra-Rangpur, Bogra-Natore highways, said a spot account of the incident.  

They set fire to a Roads and Highways office around 12.00 boon near Nishindara Charmatha area and an Akij group office near Tilhara area around 10.00am.       

The activists also cut off the different routes to paralyze communications between upazilas and district

Sporadic violent clashes also marked so far between Jammat-Shibir activists and law enforcement agency.
