DHAKA: Some 296 candidates of 12 political parties so far have withdrawn their nomination papers from the upcoming 10th general elections.
Election Commission sources confirmed the matter to banglanews.
Of them, some 149 candidates of Jatiya Party (Ershad), 44 from Awami League, 15 from JP (Manju), 10 from Bangladesh Islamic Front, two of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, four of Bangladesh Jatiya Party, six of Bangladesh Tarikat Federation, three of National Awami Party, six of BNF, six of Workers’ Party, one of Bangladesh Islamic Front and 31 independent candidates withdrew their nomination papers.
