Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Harun-or-Rashid has been suspended for allegedly assaulting two central leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in a police station.
His suspension came a day after he was transferred to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in Cox’s Bazar.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification in this regard on Monday (September 11).
According to the notification, “As it is necessary and expedient to refrain ADC Harun from government work, he has temporarily been suspended from the job in line with (Sarkari Chakri Ain) Public Service Act-2018’s Section 39 (1).”
“He remains attached with Police Headquarters during his suspension time. As per the rules, he will get allowance,” says the notification.
Mentionable, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday (yesterday) withdrew Ramna zone additional deputy commissioner Harun-or-Rashid over the allegation of torturing two Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders.
