BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday urged the government to dissolve the parliament immediately as the party demands no more elections under this government.
He said: "No more elections under the present government. So, humbly request to dissolve the parliament immediately."
The party leader was speaking as the chief guest at the party's youth march in Rangpur.
He also said: "Abolish the Election Commission made up with party people."
Jubo Dal president Sultan Saluddin Tuku is leading the youth march.
According to Fakhrul, the government claims that elections were conducted fairly under their supervision in the past, and they will be fair again this time. "But we have seen that no elections have been fair under this government," he added.
He further stated that the judicial system has been destroyed and protesters are not granted bail when they go to court.
The General Secretary of the BNP said, 'Through this movement, if we can elect impartially under the current authoritarian government, we will form a national government. Today, we want to say clearly that if our demand is not met, we will lead millions of young people in a movement."
