The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) started its road march from Jhenidah to Khulna on Tuesday morning, as part of its movement demanding the resignation of the government, the dissolution of the parliament, election under a non-partisan government and release of the party's Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The party leaders and activists brought out the march around 11:45am from the Jhenaidah Bus Terminal area and will end in Khulna's Shibbari area after marching through different streets in Jhenaidah, Magura, Jashore, and Khulna.
BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy are leading the march programme.
Earlier today, BNP leaders and activists and its associate bodies from adjoining districts gathered at the starting point to join the road march with posters, banners, festoons, party flags, and national flags.
BNP will take out road march from Kishoreganj to Mymensingh on October 1, in Faridpur division on October 3 and Cumillah to Chattogram on October 5.
