DINAJPUR: Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, is observing daylong hartal Wednesday in the district amid setting fire on highway.

The activists of Shibir brought out a procession in front of Sadar Upazila Parishad on Dinajpur-Dhaka highway at around 7:45am. Later, they set fire on the road.

Earlier on Saturday night police arrested executive member of central Shibir committee Motiur Rahman, also president of the district unit. Protesting the arrest of him, district unit Chhatra Shibir called day long hartal for Wednesday.
