DHAKA: Doctor Manabendra was nominated as Assistant Secretary of central sub-committee of ruling Awami League.

In a letter signed by Awami League Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap confirmed the information on Tuesday night.

The letter said Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has nominated Dr Manabendra as Assistant Secretary of central sub-committee of Awami League to enhance party activities to make the country free from starvation, poverty, corruption.

Dr Manabendra is working as Residential Medical Officer at neurosurgery department in Holy Family Hospital.

He is the son of AL presidium member and former state minister Satish Chandra Roy.

Besides, he expressed gratitude to Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the nomination.
