BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's medical board on Monday (October 9) said treatment is no longer possible in the country and there is nothing more they can do to treat her.
Doctors said, 'Khaleda Zia's physical condition is deteriorating and she needs to be taken abroad for better treatment.
The medical board members told reporters at a press briefing at Evercare Hospital in the capital this morning.
Doctors said, "We have done all that we can with whatever we have in hand. Now we have nothing to do."
“Water is constantly accumulating in her body. Currently, Begum Zia is on the brink of death. There are not any treatment options in Bangladesh. Accidents can be avoided if better treatment is provided, said Khaleda’s medical board.
Professor Nuruddin, a member of Khaleda Zia's medical board, said, "We don't have any treatment." We can only use antibiotics to treat her. As a result, her body is becoming antibiotic resistance. After that, no other antibiotics will work on her. So she has no treatment in this country.
She needs a liver transplant immediately and this facility is not available in Bangladesh, he said.
