SIRAJGANJ: 18-party activists torched two goods-laden trucks on Bangabandhu Bridge west link road in the district early Saturday during their 83-hour blockade.

Witnesses and police sources said that blockaders set fire in a paddy-laden Dhaka-bound truck at around 03:00am in the area.

Meanwhile, blockaders beat the truck driver and helper and hijacked Tk25, 000. Later, the blockaders set fire to another truck in the area.

On information, police rushed to the spot and fired tear shell, rubber bullets and shotgun bullets to bring the situation under control.

Sirajganj Additional Police Super Subhash Shaha confirmed the matter to banglanews.
