BNP leaders and activists gathered in large numbers in front of the party's central office in Nayapaltan to take part in the pre-scheduled mass rally on Wednesday afternoon as part of the party's one-point demand.

They have been arriving at the venue since morning to take part in the grand rally set to start at 2pm.

Wearing colourful dresses, the party men have been coming to the rally venue chanting anti-government slogans, carrying posters, festoons, and placards.

Senior BNP leaders are yet to arrive at the spot.

According to party sources, BNP has made extensive preparations to make the Nayapaltan rally a success. 

Meanwhile, members of law enforcement agencies have beefed up security in and around the area to avert any untoward situation. A number of police water cannons were also seen in the vicinity.
