48-hour blockade: Rizvi leads BNP procession in Dhaka

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi led a procession march in the capital Dhaka on Wednesday (November 8) morning to enforce the nationwide 48-hour blockade called by the party, and its allies.

He marched with the BNP activists today on the first day of the third phase of the comprehensive blockade to press home their one-point demand of immediate resignation of the ruling government.

The demonstration started at 7:30am in Uttara House building area in the capital.

A fresh 48-hour blockade across the country called by the BNP and its allies in the ongoing one-point movement began today morning.

BNP previously enforced a 72-hour blockade starting October 31, following the violence centring BNP's rally on October 28.

The BNP, Jamaat and others also enforced a 48-hour blockade program across the country from Sunday (November 5) morning aimed at demanding the government's resignation and a singular demand for a caretaker government.

The main opposition BNP on Tuesday (November 7) claimed that around 9,000 of its leaders and activists was arrested in countrywide raids that started days before their scheduled grand rally on October 28.
