BNP leaders are instigating the readymade garments (RMG) workers' ongoing demonstration, alleged Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today (November 12).
The minister made the remark in response to a question from journalists at his office in the secretariat this noon.
He said that the Prime Minister has recently increased the wages by 56 percent. The Ministry of Labor, BGMEA and other organizations have discussed and increased workers’ wages from eight to twelve thousands.
“However, we heard, many workers have doubts about their grade. These must be solved by the owner of the garments. Arson or roadblocks are not the solution,” he said.
“BNP men are provoking the innocent workers. They chose this place after failing in all aspects,” Home Minister also said.
Earlier, workers of readymade garment factories in the country were demonstrating demanding a minimum basic salary of Tk 23,000.
