BAGERHAT: A leader of Jamaat-e-Islami was held by law enforcers from Puratan Bazar area of the district town on Thursday morning.

The detainee was identified as Advocate Mostaim Billa, 41, secretary of Bagerhat municipal unit of Jamaat-e-Islami and resident of Baroipara union under Sadar upazila.

Police sources said that in a special drive law enforcement agency nabbed Billa from the area around 10:30am.

Confirming the matter Bagerhat Sadar Model Thana Sub-Inspector Ajgor told banglanews that Mostaim Billa was accused in a case for attacking police in Darshani area of the town.
