DHAKA: Opposition BNP Joint Secretary General Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon was arrested in city’s Segunbagicha area on Thursday afternoon.

 
Detective Branch (DB) of Metropolitan Police held him around 4:20pm and he was taken to DB office in the city, said Joint Commissioner of DB Police Monirul Islam.

He was nabbed for his instigating speeches against the polls-time government, he added.

The BNP leader is a general secretary of Supreme Court Bar Association and lawmaker from Noakhali-1 constituency.
