The 1st day of the 36-hour road, rail, and waterways blockade, enforced by BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and like-minded opposition parties, is underway across the country.
The 11th phase blockade started at 6am on Tuesday and will end at 6pm on Wednesday.
BNP, Jamaat and like-minded parties announced the blockade programme to press home their demand of holding the next general election under a non-partisan government.
The traffic counting on the street today in Dhaka is more compared to the previous blockades.
Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants set two buses on fire in Dhaka’s Tikatuli and Mohammadpur areas on Monday night.
In a virtual press conference on 10 December, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, senior joint secretary general of the party, called on the leaders and workers to make this blockade programme a success.
