Jatiya Party Chairman and deputy leader of the opposition party in the parliament, GM Quader has reportedly received a life threat, with miscreants warning him to stay away from the upcoming parliamentary poll scheduled for January 7.
Abdul Hannan, personal assistant to Quader, lodged a general diary with Uttara West Police Station on Thursday.
An unknown caller phoned Quader on December 13 and asked him not to participate in the upcoming general election. At one point in the conversation, the caller gave him a life threat, according to the GD.
Meanwhile, Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of the police station, told that the incident is under investigation and efforts are on to arrest the culprit for legal action.
