Jatiya Party (JaPa) on Sunday (December 17) decided to participate in the national elections scheduled for January 7.
JaPa general secretary Mujibul Haque Chunnu made the announcement while today at the party chairman's Banani office in the afternoon.
He also confirmed that his Party would contest in 283 seats as they decided earlier.
Chunnu said, “Not under any alliance, the Jatiya Party will participate in the election under its own symbol.”
“The decision to participate in the elections is not a matter of compromise with the government. This is a party decision,” he said.
Meanwhile, JaPa Chairman GM Quader on Sunday withdrew his nomination from the Dhaka-17 constituency.
