Jamal Hossain Mia, the Secretary of Industry and Commerce Affairs for the Faridpur unit Awami League, has continued his massive electoral campaign and gained a 'huge response' from people for his Eagle symbol.
He is contesting from the Faridpur-2 constituency as an independent candidate as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina allowed party leaders to make elections more competitive.
On Wednesday, Jamal Hossain Mia visited several areas in the constituency, including Saltha Upazila's Atghar and Nakulhati Bazar of Saltha Upazila, where he actively engaged with the local people. He requested people to cast votes for the Eagle as a symbol of strength, freedom, bravery, and resilience.
The young leader also heard from people and promised to develop the area based on demands and community assessment upon being elected as a member of parliament.
He also conducted a meeting in Savar village, located in the Laskardia Union of Nagarkanda Upazila.
AL Saltha upazila unit president Delwar Hossain Mia, organising secretary Sabbir Hossain, former upazila chairman Ohiduzzaman, Talma union parishad chairman Kamal Hossain Mia, former upazila parishad chairman Mizanur Rahman were, among other leaders and activists of the area, present during the mass campaign.
Jamal Mia, a former leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League, made a flying start in politics by being elected general secretary of the student union at Rajendra University College, a traditional educational institute in the country.
The young leader served the central committee of the Awami Jubo League, the Nagarkanda upazila unit of the Awami League and the Faridpur District Chhatra League in different capacities.
Jamal Hussain Mia, a political science, and law graduate, is the executive director of Bashundhara Group and chairman of Zarin Construction.
