BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today (January 4) urged the people to boycott the January 7 general election instead of going to polling centres.
He organized a mass campaign in Dhaka in the morning to garner support for a non-cooperation movement ahead of 12th parliamentary election, scheduled to be held on January 7.
Rizvi distributed leaflets and conducting mass communication with leaders and activists infront of Rajuk Uttara Model College in the capital on Thursday (January 4).
Earlier on January 1, BNP announced a three-day mass contact and leaflet distribution programme on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to drum up support for its campaign to boycott the January 7 national election.
After continued blockades and hartals, since late October to unseat the government, the BNP on recently announced a non-cooperation movement, urging people to boycott the January 7 general election.
BNP urged voters on December 20, to boycott the general election, reiterating demands for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to step down or else risk what it called a "one-sided dummy election".
