MEHERPUR: Jamaat-e-Islami is observing day long hartal in the district without any picketing on Wednesday.
The movement of all internal and long-route busses remained stopped of the district and most of the shops and markets were closed.

Police Super of the district A.K.M Nahidul Islam told banglanews that no untoward incidents were reported yet.
Joint forces had been deployed at key points of different upazilas including district.

Earlier on Tuesday, Abdul Jabber also Amjupi Union Jamaat Ameer was killed in a gunfight with joint forces. Later, district Jamaat-e-Islami called daylong hartal for Wednesday protesting of his killing.
