MAGURA: District BNP-led 18-party alliance called for 36-hour hartal from 6:00am Thursday to 12:00 noon Friday in the district in protest against the confinement of Khaleda Zia and demanding release of their central leaders.

District BNP president Kabir Murad made the announcement on Wednesday afternoon and distributed leaflets in the Paronanduali area in support of it.

On the other hand, district Chhatra Dal brought out a sudden procession in the evening and blasted two cocktails at the Jutapotti intersection of the town.
