SYLHET: Opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance called 36-hour hartal in the district from Saturday morning in protest against ‘confinement’ of the party chief Khaleda Zia.

Convener of district 18-party alliance MA Haque, also president of the city BNP, made the announcement of the shutdown on Thursday morning.

Metropolitan Chhatra Dal leader Zahed Ahmed Talukder told banglanews that activists of 18- party brought out procession in the divisional city during the blockade hours and staged a rally.
