The ruling Awami League (AL) and main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist (BNP) are set to hold programmes in the capital this afternoon (January 27).
BNP Chairperson’s press wing Shamsuddin Didar confirmed regarding the party’s scheduled programme.
He said, “BNP will hold a black flag procession at 2 pm in the capital demanding party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release and cancelation of current parliament.”
The procession will start from BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan and will end at Mogbazar intersection via Kakrail and Malibag intersections, said Didar.
He also informed that BNP national standing committee members, senior leaders and all levels of central and various allied organizations will participate in the procession.
On the other hand, the ruling party has also announced to hold peace and democracy rally this afternoon.
Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League office secretary Riaz Uddin Riaz confirming the matter said they will hold a peace and democracy rally at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital at 3 pm.
