JESSORE: At least nine law enforcers were injured as Jamaat-Shibir men attacked a police van at Chandua village under Manirampur upazila of the district on Saturday night.

Witnesses said a group of Jamaat-Shibir activists suddenly attacked and vandalized a police vehicle, while they were patrolling in the area, around 7:30pm, leaving eight police personnel and an Ansar member injured.

Later, police opened fire to disperse the culprits and brought the situation under control.

Assistant Police Super of the district (ASP) Reshma Sharmin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
