48-hr hartal from Monday morning

DHAKA: Opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance has called 48-hour nonstop hartal across the country from Monday morning alongside the indefinite blockade programme demanding the cancellation of the 10th parliamentary polls.

Dr Osman Faruk, Adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, made the hartal announcement in a press conference at Gulshan in the city on Sunday evening.

The spokesperson for the party told the journalists: “The people of the country rejected the farcical elections. They have sent the government to cold storage.”
