BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today (Feb 13) said the Awami League government would be brought to book for committing misdeeds during its entire regime.
“Between 1972 and 1975, as many as 20,000 leaders and activists of Jasad and opposition parties, including [leftist leader] Siraj Sikder, were killed during the Awami League government,” he said after distributing leaflets in the capital as part of the party’s programme.
“Even at present, numerous leaders and activists of the BNP have been killed. Many people, including BNP leaders Ilias Ali and Chowdhury Alam, have become the victims of enforced disappearances. All the misdeeds and murders committed by the Awami League government in its regimes will be tried through the international investigation.”
Rizvi said the people have rejected the 7 January “dummy election” and taken a stand against it.
“Everyone has taken to the streets and participated in the movement to oust the government. The whole nation is united. Inshallah, this government will be brought down by being united by all,” he added.
