NOAKHALI: An activist of Juba League, who sustained injuries during an attack by BNP men in Sonaimuri upazila of the district on Sunday night, died at Upazila heath complex early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Mahfuz, 23, son Hazi Joynal Mia of Gozaria village of the upazila.

Sources said that activists of BNP attacked on a post-poll victory procession of Awami League at around 8:00pm Sunday, leaving Mahfuz critically injured.

Later locals   rushed him to the upazila hospital where Mahfuz died at around 4:00am.

Sonaimuri Thana Assistant Sub-Inspector of police Jamal Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.
