BNP’s vice chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu was shown arrested in eight cases filed against him at three police stations in the capital.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court (CMM) magistrate Md. Sultan Shohag Uddin passed the order over a petition filed by the defense lawyer.
Of the eight cases, four were filed against the BNP leader with Paltan police station, three with Ramna police station, and one with Badda police station.
Defense lawyer Zainul Abedin confirming the matter said the lower court is supposed to pass verdict over all the cases based on the bail petition filed on Thursday this afternoon (February 18).
On February 15, Lawyers filed a bail petition including show arrested for BNP leader Dudu over the eight cases before CMM court. Later, the court set February 18 for hearing the petition.
On November 5, 2023, some 15-20 people identified them as members of detective police (DB) picked up Shamsuzzaman Dudu from his elder sister's cantonment house at 12 am.
The next day, Dhaka court sentenced Dudu to jail after three-day remand for his alleged involvement in vandalizing chief justice's house, attacking police and police constable murder.
Later, on November 9 Dudu was sent to jail.
