Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of the ruling Awami League, staged a demonstration at the Dhaka University (DU) campus on Monday, demanding the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and an immediate end to the barbarism of Israeli forces in Gaza.

The BCL men staged the demonstration in front of the historic Madhur Canteen, a socio-culturally and politically important place for DU students, this noon. Later, they also brought out a procession holding Palestine’s flag and expressed solidarity with the global demand.   

Protests in solidarity with Palestine were held Sunday in Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, with hundreds of people demanding a permanent cease-fire in Gaza, according to the international media.
