Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said that there is no headache regarding the comments of CPD, TIB, and Sujan on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2024–25.
“We are making arrangements to bring the undisclosed money to the bank. The tax benefits will increase even more in the bank,” Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said.
“Now what CPD said, what TIB said, what Sujan said—we don't have any headaches about these. They all speak in tune with the BNP. Their actual actions do not match their words,” the AL general secretary said.
On Saturday, at a press conference at AL central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital, Obaidul Quader talked about the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2024–25.
The Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD), in response to the proposed budget, said that the government could not show proficiency in this year's budget. They highlighted that an opportunity to whiten black money has been given, which contradicts the election manifesto of the Awami League, stated the AL general secretary while talking to journalists.
“We are taking measures to bring the unexplored income to the mainstream of the economy by paying 15% tax. This will improve the banking system. An opportunity has been given to whiten black money in the budget to recover the money hidden in the hands of many,” Quader said.
