The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court today (July 27) granted seven days police remand to BNP Joint Secretary General Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee for his alleged involvement in vandalizing and arson attacks on Bangladesh Television (BTV) during quota movement across the country on July 18.  

Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Shanta Akhter passed the order after hearing both the sides as the police produced him before the court seeking 10 days remand. 

Earlier, police arrested Anee from his house in the city’s Elephant Road on Thursday.

In this regard, General Manager of BTV Mahfuja Akhter filed a case with Rampura Police Station on July 19.
