Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today (July 28) said conspirators had planned to occupy Gono Bhaban like Sri Lankan prime minister's office in 2022.

Quader said while addressing a programme held at the Dhaka district Awami League office in Tejgaon.

He said, “If the curfew was not imposed, there was a plot to occupy the Gono Bhaban in Sri Lankan style… army has not fired a single shot since curfew was imposed.”

Sheikh Hasina is visiting the hospital out of grief, not to shed tears, said Quader, adding BNP-Jamaat men don't approach people.
