A court in Dhaka today (Oct 6) imposed a travel ban Abdur Rahman, former Member of Parliament and Minister of Fisheries and Livestock.
Dhaka Metropolitan Session Judge (Acting) Farzana Yasmin passed the order following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC in its petition told the court that Abdur Rahman is under investigation for allegedly accumulating illicit wealth by irregular means and embezzling of government money.
The petitioner also claimed, “The individuals involved may attempt to flee the country. To ensure a proper investigation, it is necessary to restrict their foreign travel.”
