Former lawmakers Mahabub Ara Begum Gini was arrested from Dhaka early Tuesday.

Rezaul Karim Mallick, the additional commissioner of the Detective Branch of police, confirmed the matter.

The DB official said that Gini was accused of several cases filed after August 5.

The detectives will soon decide in which cases she will be shown arrested.

Gini, a former whip of the parliament, was a lawmaker from Gaibandha-2 constituency.
