Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has formed a five-member committee to review and coordinate issues related to the Election Commission’s ongoing constituency delimitation activities for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
According to a press release issued by the party on Sunday (Aug 3), the committee will examine the Election Commission’s initiatives regarding the revision of parliamentary constituencies and provide recommendations accordingly.
BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has been appointed as the convener of the committee, while Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi will serve as the member secretary.
The other members of the committee include Dr Md Jakoria, former acting secretary of the Election Commission; Md Shamsul Alam, former deputy secretary of the Election Commission; and Belayet Hossain Mridha, a member of BNP’s National Executive Committee.
