BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia visited the grave of her late husband and party founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital on Wednesday night, marking her first visit in seven years.
She arrived at the grave around 11pm and offered fateha and a munajat, seeking eternal peace for the soul of the late president, said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
According to party sources, Khaleda last visited Ziaur Rahman’s grave in February 2018, just before her arrest in a corruption case that same year.
Since then, the former prime minister had been unable to visit the site due to her imprisonment and subsequent health complications.
