The Nationalist Citizen Party (NCP) has announced its manifesto for building a ‘New Bangladesh.’
NCP convenor Nahid Islam declared the 24-point manifesto at the party’s rally held at the Central Shaheed Minar on Sunday (August 3).
Titled ‘Manifesto for a New Bangladesh,’ the party’s declaration and pledges include—
New constitution and second republic, recognition and trial of the July uprising, reform of democracy and state institutions, justice-based legal system and law reforms, service-oriented administration and anti-corruption measures, people-friendly law enforcement, village parliament and local government, independent media and strong civil society, universal healthcare, education policy for nation-building, research, innovation and information technology revolution, dignity of religion, community and ethnicity, women’s safety, rights and empowerment, people-centered and welfare-oriented economy, youth and employment, multi-dimensional trade and industrialisation policy, sustainable agriculture and food sovereignty, rights of workers and farmers, national resource management, urbanisation, transportation and housing planning, climate resilience and river-sea protection, dignity and rights of expatriate Bangladeshis, Bangladesh-centric foreign policy, and national defense strategy.
