A Dhaka court on Monday ordered that former minister Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President Hasanul Haq Inu, and former state minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak be shown arrested in the murder case of Mahadi Hasan Pantho, who was killed during the July uprising.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sefatullah passed the order after police produced the trio before the court and sought their detention in the case.
According to case documents, Mahadi was shot in the head on 19 July while participating in an anti-discrimination student protest in the Kodomtoli area of Dhaka. A murder case was filed on November 8 in connection with the incident.
Palak was arrested on 14 August, followed by Menon on 22 August and Inu on 26 August. All three have already been remanded for various periods in other related cases.
