A four-member delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will participate in the official ceremony of the July Declaration to be held Tuesday afternoon (Aug 5) at the South Plaza of the National Parliament complex.
The event, scheduled for 5:00 pm, will feature the formal presentation of the July Declaration by Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, marking a pivotal moment in the country's post-uprising political roadmap.
The government extended invitations to all major political parties, including Jamaat-e-Islami, as part of a broader push for inclusive dialogue and political consensus.
In response, Jamaat confirmed its participation through a high-level delegation led by Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, the party’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament.
The delegation also includes Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary Generals Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and Dr. Hamidur Rahman Azad, both of whom are also former MPs.
A statement from Jamaat’s central publicity department confirmed the party's attendance, describing it as a continuation of their “constructive role in efforts for dialogue, consensus, and political stability.”
