The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has suspended Aktar Hossain, a member of the party’s Cox’s Bazar district unit and former convener of Maheshkhali municipal BNP, from all positions, including his primary membership, until further notice.

The suspension was announced on Thursday (Aug 14) by Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

According to a party press release, the decision came after Aktar Hossain allegedly verbally abused and threatened the officer-in-charge of Maheshkhali Police Station and engaged in activities against the party.
