DHAKA: BNP Senior Joint Secretary-General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the Chittagong Hill Tracts is now a den of international conspiracy and that it’s no more a domestic problem rather an international issue.
He made the remark while speaking at a discussion meeting dubbed ‘unrest in hills: endangered national security’ organized by Hill Parishad at the national press club Sunday.
Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Kader Siddiqui said the CHT peace agreement Awami League signed had loopholes.
Adviser to the BNP Chairperson Shamsuzzaman Dudu said hill people or the Bangalees both do not go by the peace deal Awami League signed.
With Journalist Elahi Nawaj Khan Shaju in the chair, the discussion was also addressed, among others, by BNP working committee member Shama Obaed, and Barrister Pervez Ahmed.
