DHAKA: BNP Standing Committee Member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia on Sunday said the same situation like 1975 would not be created and if it creates, Awami league would be responsible for this.

The senior leader of the party made observation while inaugurating a blood-donation programme to observe the 33rd death anniversary of Ziaur Rahman at the National Press Club.

Replying the comment of Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam apprehends that 1975 situation could repeat, he said AL was feared as they are detached from the people.

If the same situation will come again as AL not hold a participatory election soon and they would be responsible for this, he added.

Barrister Rafiqul also said abduction and murder incidents are increasing and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is liable for this as it is the tenure of unelected government.

Swadhinota Forum’s president Abu Naser Mohammad Rahmatullah presided over the programme.

Student Secretary Khairul Kabir Khokon and Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) General Secretary Dr AZM Zahid Hossain also spoke.
